The crown gear manufacturing device is provided with: a workpiece-supporting unit for supporting a workpiece to rotate freely centered on a first axis; a cutter-supporting unit for supporting a cutter to rotate freely centered on a second axis; and a moving unit for moving the cutter along a reference line, which passes through the first axis. The crown gear manufacturing device is provided with a configuration in which: the second axis is inclined with respect to a reference plane that is oriented so as to be orthogonal to the first axis; the tool edge of the cutter is brought into contact at an offset position that deviates from the reference line; the workpiece and the cutter are driven synchronously; and the cutter is moved along the reference line. |
