Disclosed are a method and system for preventing an ordinary terminal from triggering a Things of Internet device. The method comprises: according to an identifier of a caller initiating service trigger or an identifier of a short message service center which a caller initiating service trigger belongs to, determining whether a current trigger service is a trigger service initiated by an ordinary terminal or a trigger service initiated by a Things of Internet server; and when it is determined that the current trigger service is a trigger service initiated by an ordinary terminal, refusing the trigger service. The present invention can solve a problem that a home register refuses a trigger service initiated by a normal Things of Internet server in the prior art.
