This light guide path sensor is provided with: a light source; a core that guides light radiated from the light source; a cladding formed around the core; a light guide path member having at least one detecting section formed therein; and a light receiving section that receives light, which has been guided by means of the light guide path member, and which has passed through the detecting section. The detecting section has: a first opening formed in the outer circumference of the light guide path member by removing at least a part of the cladding by leaving a thickness with which the light from the core is not transmitted; and a second opening, which is formed within the range of the first opening so as to transmit the light from the core. A method for forming the light guide path sensor of such embodiment is provided.
