An attachment (16) for tape splicing is detachably attached to a feeder setting base (12) of a component mounting machine (11). A reel attachment shaft (18), onto which a plurality of reels (20) for tape splicing can be inserted, is provided on this attachment (16). Cutout parts (24, 25) are formed on the tape winding core part (22) and flange part (23) of the reels (20), and reels (20) that have been inserted onto the reel attachment shaft (18) can be detached from the reel attachment shaft (18) via the cutout parts (24, 25) in a radially outward direction. Even before the component supplying tape (14) wound onto a reel (20) is used up, the terminating end part of that component supplying tape (14) can be pulled out from the cutout part (24) of the tape winding core part (22) of the reel (20), and the terminating end part of that component supplying tape (14) can be spliced to the front end part of the component supplying tape (14) wound around another reel (20).
