The present invention provides a fork reach speed control device of a fork lift truck and a control method thereof comprising: a fork member which is installed on a mast assembly of a reach type fork lift truck, is formed of two long protruding parts, and draws up or drags down loaded goods while the two long protruding parts move up and down along a hydraulic rod of the mast assembly; a detection part which detects the movement height of the fork member with constant height on a beam member of the mast assembly; a main control part which detects the movement height of the fork member (5) with the detection part and accelerates and decelerates the reach speed of the mast assembly according to a detection result; and a reach operation part which is installed on one side of the body of the fork lift truck, provides hydraulic power, and controls the driving of a hydraulic driving part according to a function control signal of the main control part to control the speed of the mast assembly by changing the in/out speed of a reach cylinder. The present invention mentioned above minimizes the shaking of the fork and mast top ends and performs operations by decreasing the reach speed of a mast by a predetermined speed if the fork member moves upward at a certain speed and gets at the height of the detection part mounted on a predetermined position of an inner rail of the mast assembly, thereby maximizing work stability of the fork lift truck. |
