Disclosed are a separator having a porous coating layer and an electrochemical device including the same. The separator according to the present invention includes a porous substance, and a porous coating layer formed on at least on one side of the porous substance and including inorganic particles, binder macromolecules, and polydopamine. According to the present invention, the safety of the electrochemical device can be improved by controlling those inorganic particles not to be separated by stress taking place in assembling the electrochemical device with improved binding strength between the porous substance and the porous coating layer while the output and cycle property of the electrochemical device can be also increased by improving the affinity between the separator and the electrolyte, thereby improving the wetness of the electrolyte. |
