PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type encoder which achieves an ultracompact size and extremely-high resolution by manufacturing a scale reflector by using an innovative method different from an etching method.SOLUTION: In a reflection type encoder, the light from a light emitter is reflected by a scale reflector 1 on which a light reflection part 2 and light non-reflection parts 5 are alternately arranged, and is detected by a light receiving element. The non-reflection parts 5 are formed on the scale reflector 1 in such a manner that a plurality of protrusions 3 and/or recesses 4 are formed on a surface of the non-reflection parts 5. |
