PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for producing an aqueous dispersion for thermal inkjet having excellent dischargeability; the aqueous dispersion thereof; and an aqueous ink containing the aqueous dispersion.SOLUTION: An aqueous dispersion-containing aqueous ink for thermal inkjet recording is obtained by a production method including: a step (1) of preparing a mixture which contains a pigment, polymer having an anionic group, volatile base, nonvolatile base, organic solvent and water and in which the sum of the neutralization degree of the anionic group by the volatile base and that by the nonvolatile base is 210 to 500%, and a molar ratio (volatile base/nonvolatile base) is over 1, and dispersion-treating the mixture to obtain the dispersion; and a step (2) of removing the volatile base and organic solvent from the obtained dispersion having the pH at 20°C of 11.0 to 12.0 to obtain the aqueous dispersion of polymer particles containing the pigment having the pH at 20°C of 8.5 to 10.0. |
