PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torsionally flexible damper or coupling which is mainly used for a large engine.SOLUTION: A first flange 11 includes a hole opening part 14 for causing a fastening element 30 which is used for fastening the first flange 11 to a component second flange 21 to pass therethrough. The first flange 11 component has local indentations 15 around the hole opening parts 14 and washers 40 are placed in the local indentations 15. Each of the washers 40 has a first contact surface 41 for contact with the first flange 11 and has a second contact surface 42 for axial contact with the component second flange 21. A friction coefficient μ between at least one of first and second contact surfaces 41, 42 and corresponding contact surfaces 16, 26 of the first flange 11 or the component second flange 21 is larger than a friction coefficient relative to friction to be directly caused between the first flange 11 and the component second flange 21.
