PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device for X-rays capable of improving detection efficiency of X-rays, and reducing the size of pixels.SOLUTION: A solid state imaging device 1 is used for detecting X-rays; the solid state imaging device 1 comprises: a substrate 2; a lower electrode layer 9 arranged on the substrate 2; a compound semiconductor layer 12 of a chalcopyrite structure arranged on the lower electrode layer 9 so as to cover the lower electrode layer 9; and a transparent electrode layer 4 arranged on the compound semiconductor layer 12.
