PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject information acquisition apparatus capable of reducing noise included in detection signals obtained by detecting photoacoustic waves.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition apparatus includes: an optical system for guiding light emitted by a light source and irradiating a subject with emission light; an acoustic wave detector for detecting photoacoustic waves generated inside the subject by the irradiation of the subject with the emission light, and outputting detection signals; and a light shielding member disposed between the optical system and the acoustic wave detector, for reducing intensity of the emission light with which the detection surface of the photoacoustic waves in the acoustic wave detector is irradiated. |
