A method for producing the negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes the steps of: preparing silicon nanoparticles; preparing a silicon-carbon composite material including the silicon nanoparticles and a carbonaceous material; and subjecting the silicon-carbon composite material to thermal-compression treatment. |
