PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sheet fused body that has sealed edges in which the edges of a plurality of sheets are fused in a stacked manner, is excellent in the flexibility and the texture of the sealed edges, and also has practically sufficient fusion strength.SOLUTION: One surface of a belt-like sheet stack 10 (a diaper continuous body) in which a plurality of sheets are stacked is brought into contact with a support member 21 having light-passing sections 27 that allow laser light 30 to pass therethrough. Then, the belt-like sheet stack 10 in a pressurized state is irradiated with laser light 30 of a wavelength which is absorbed by the sheets constituting the sheet stack 10 and causes the heat generation of the sheets through the light-passing sections 27 from the support member 21 side, thereby dividing the belt-like sheet stack 10 into parts, and simultaneously fusing the cut edges of the plurality of sheets in the pressurized state generated by the division to each other in order to form sealed edges 4 (side sealed sections) in which the edges of the plurality of sheets are fused in a stacked state. |
