PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber compact which is used as noise-proof cover of an internal combustion engine, is suitable as sound absorbing material, electric insulating material or heat insulating material and can show high flame resistance while showing desired noise insulation.SOLUTION: A fiber compact includes fiber equal to or more than two kinds and at least a part of the fiber is flame retardant added fiber. Proportion of full mass of the flame retardant constructing the flame retardant added fiber for gross mass of the fiber compact is 0.01-1.8 mass%.
