PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL light emitting device capable of inhibiting the damage of an organic EL element which is caused by contact between an absorbent material and the organic EL element.SOLUTION: An organic EL light emitting device A of this invention comprises: an organic EL element 5 supported by a supporting substrate 1; and an absorbent material 8 supported by a sealing substrate 6. In a plane view, a light emitting region E at the organic EL element 5 is formed into a polygonal shape. In the plane view, the absorbent material 8 is placed in a position overlapping with a corner of the light emitting region E. An angle of an apex 11 of the absorbent material 8 is substantially the same as an angle of the corner of the light emitting region E. A centroid 17 of the absorbent material 8 is positioned in a triangle region 19, which is surrounded by a first side 12, a second side 13, and a third side 14 connecting an end part of the first side with an end part of the second side 13 and has a triangle shape in the plane view. |
