The present invention relates to a method of checking malfunctions in a resolver. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the method of checking malfunctions in a resolver, for extracting a short circuit between excitation signals and outputting signals in a resolver, capable of improving the accuracy of checking malfunctions by having a huge voltage margin between the normal condition and short circuit condition and resolving a failure of checking malfunctions caused by sensitivity in changes in excitation signals. To achieve the purpose of the present invention, the method comprises the steps of: receiving outputting signals representing the location of the absolute angle of a motor rotor from the resolver while a motor rotates when excitation signals are applied to the resolver; periodically sampling and reading a voltage value for checking failures from the outputting signals inputted as a voltage signal from the resolver; computing a difference of voltage values for checking failures of two outputting signals which produce angle extracting signals extracting the location of the absolute angle; and comparing the difference in voltage values for checking malfunctions with a predetermined voltage to check a short circuit in the excitation signals and outputting signals of the resolver. |
