PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable positioning independent of density of base stations existing around a radio communication device.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle device 3 comprises: a direct radio communication unit for receiving data transmitted from a reference station 2 by direct radio communication; means for detecting a received signal strength indicator RSSI; means for storing reference locus information in which correspondence between the reception signal strength indicator RSSI and a traveled distance on a road from a point closest to the reference station 2 on the road in the vicinity of the reference station 2 as a starting point is set; means that calculates a movement distance, probe movement distance, of own vehicle from timing when first detecting a radio beacon and generates probe locus information indicating correspondence between the reception signal strength indicator RSSI and the probe movement distance; means for determining correspondence between a reference movement distance and the probe movement distance by comparing the reference locus information and the probe locus information; and means for determining a current position of the on-vehicle device 3 on the basis of the correspondence and the detected current reception signal strength indicator RSSI. |
