PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for dynamic stream management in audio video bridged networks.SOLUTION: A network communication system includes one or more talkers 130, 131, 132 that are configured to transmit data streams to one or more listeners 140, 141, 142 over a network 110, such as an Ethernet(R) Audio/Video Bridging network. Before transmitting a new data stream, a talker requests a reservation for bandwidth through a controller 150 that manages and/or controls the flow of data streams. If there is not enough bandwidth, then the controller determines whether any existing data streams may be transmitted at lower bandwidths to make available enough bandwidth for the new data stream. |
