PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of variation in the characteristics of pixels, without increasing the processing load of an external signal processing section.SOLUTION: A solid state image sensor 4 includes a plurality of pixels PX arranged two-dimensionally, a plurality of vertical signal lines 27 provided for each column of the plurality of pixels PX and receiving signals from the pixels PX in a corresponding column, a plurality of signal processing sections 29 for processing the signal on the plurality of vertical signal lines 27, respectively, and having an amplifier 34, respectively, and gain setting means 35. The gain setting means 35 sets the gain of the amplifier 34 in a plurality of signal processing sections 29 so that variation in level of signals obtained, respectively, from a plurality of signal processing sections 29 when uniform incident light impinges on the plurality of pixels PX is reduced as compared with variation in level of signals obtained, respectively, from a plurality of signal processing sections 29 when the gain of each amplifier 34 is identical and uniform incident light impinges on the plurality of pixels PX. |
