PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a methacrylic resin having high heat resistance, and excellent color, transparency and moist heat resistance while keeping high productivity and polymerization stability.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a methacrylic resin, including a polymerization step of copolymerizing 50-99 mass% of a methacrylic ester-based monomer (A), 1-30 mass% of a maleimide-based monomer (B) and 0-20 mass% of other vinylic monomers (C) in a reaction vessel, and satisfying the following conditions (1) to (3): (1) the maleimide-based monomer (B) is solid at 25°C; (2) the maleimide-based monomer (B) in a state of being dispersed in water is fed into the reaction vessel; and (3) the maleimide-based monomer (B) has a content of ≤10 mass% of components having particle diameters of ≤0.15 mm. |
