A mobile terminal and a control method for the same are disclosed. The mobile terminal of the present invention comprises: a wireless communication unit; and a control unit which operates in at least one of a first mode for transmitting voice data to another terminal through the wireless communication unit and a second mode for transmitting content data to another terminal therethrough, wherein, if the control unit obtains a selection signal for at least one of the first and second modes, the control unit starts at least one of the first and second modes on the basis of the same identification information as the another terminal and, when the control unit operates in the second mode, the control unit transmits the content data to the another terminal if the another terminal accepts the reception of the content data according to the second mode. Therefore, the voice data and the content data can be transmitted to the another terminal by using the same identification information, thereby not using a separate account for transmission of the content data.
