PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element using a compound having a biaryl group in which bond axes capable of giving internal rotation anisotropy exist.SOLUTION: An electroluminescent material is represented by a following general formula (B1). In the formula (B1), Arand Arindependently represent an aryl group and an aromatic heterocyclic ring group, respectively, Lrepresents -N(R)-, Rrepresents a substituent group, Lrepresents an atom group necessary for forming a five-membered aromatic heterocyclic ring and Lrepresents -N=. More specifically, at least one of Ar, Arand Ris a biaryl group having bonding axes capable of giving internal rotation anisotropy or a group having a part thereof, and Arand Arare never identical to each other. Further, adjacent substituent groups may be condensed with each other and form a saturated ring or an unsaturated ring. |
