PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a new technique for quantifying nuclear medicinal data.SOLUTION: Information obtained from nuclear medical image data is normalized by use of the bone mineral content (BMC) or the bone mineral density (BMD). For example, instead of the conventional SUV, SUVbone=[attenuation-compensated amount of radiation in region of interest (kBq)÷volume of region of interest (ml)]/[administrated amount of radioactivity (kBq)÷bone mineral content (g)], or SUVbone=[attenuation-compensated amount of radiation in region of interest (kBq)÷volume of region of interest (ml)]/[administrated amount of radioactivity (kBq)÷bone mineral density (g/m)], which is proposed by the present inventors, is used. BMC or BMD may be estimated on the basis of the gender, age, height, and body weight of a subject.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
