The invention provides a manufacture method for a film forming material, a film, and a liquid crystal display element. The purpose is to form a film with excellent low temperature calcination and low residual solvent. In a manufacture method for the film forming material containing at least one polymer selected from a group formed by polyamic acid and polyimide, the following steps are included: a polymerization step, wherein in a polymer solvent comprising at least one solvent (A) selected from a group formed by alcohol, ether, ketone, and hydrocarbon, polymerization of DSDA and diamine is performed, DSDA is soluble in the solvent (A) or in reaction with diamine to be soluble in the solvent (A), diamine is soluble in the solvent (A) or in reaction with DSDA to be soluble in the solvent (A); and a step of preparing the film forming material via use of the polymer obtained via the polymerization step. |
