PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically pure (-)-venlafaxine derivative and a synthesis process thereof; and a composition containing the derivative and usage thereof.SOLUTION: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition consisting of a (-)-venlafaxine derivative essentially free of (+) stereoisomer or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Also, disclosed is a method for treatment and prevention of diseases and disorders including ( but not limited to ) affective disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, mania, attentional deficit disorder, attentional deficit disorder accompanied by overactivity, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, brain dysfunction, obesity and weight increase, incontinence, dementia and related disorders thereto. |
