PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient vacuum cleaner without inadvertent flicker of an illuminating means, even when a cleaned surface has unevenness.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner includes a contact detection means 81 that detects if a suction tool is in a contact state or non-contact state with a cleaned surface, an illuminating means 80 that is provided for the suction tool and disposed to be able to illuminate a part to be cleaned, and a control means 20 that controls the lighting/light-reducing/turning-off state of the illuminating means 80. The control means 20 lights up the illuminating means 80 when the contact detection means 81 detects the contact state, reduces light of or turns off the illuminating means 80 when detects the non-contact state, and sets a delay time during which the illuminating means 80 is not reduced in light or turned off for a predetermined period of time when the shift from the contact state to the non-contact state is detected, so that the convenient vacuum cleaner without inadvertent flicker of the illuminating means that a user does not intend can be provided even if the cleaned surface has unevenness. |
