PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface shape forming method which can form a microstucture of a plurality of projections and recesses precisely on a curved surface to be machined.SOLUTION: A surface shape forming method for forming an antireflection part includes: a sheet-like mold member arranging process of arranging a film mold 5, which is formed of a sheet-like elastic body and is formed by inverting the antireflection part and compressed in an in-plane direction of a surface 5c, on an opening 6a of a mold holding member 6; a sheet-like mold member deforming process of expanding the film mold 5 to deform it according to a curved shape of a convex lens surface 1a; a sheet-like mold member moving process of arranging UV cured resin to move a molded surface 5A in a position close to the convex lens surface 1a; a sheet-like mold member pressing process of pressing the film mold 5 against the convex lens surface 1a; a curing process of curing the UV cured resin; and a mold releasing process of separating the film mold 5 from the convex lens surface 1a after curing.
