PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device for restraining loss of information in image data after reading a double-spread document.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a reading section for reading an image of a document; a first creation section for creating a first edge image with a first threshold as a border to a value of a gradient of a concentration of each pixel from the image data read by the reading section; a second creation section for creating a second edge image with a second threshold at which a gradient of the concentration is more gradual as a border to the value of the concentration of each pixel; a document range determination section for determining a region continuously surrounded by pixels with a first value as a range of a document region from the first edge image; a specific range determination section for determining a region of a largest area among regions constituted by the pixels of a second value in the document region as a range of a specific region from the second edge image; and an image processing section for image-processing the image data in the document region using the document region and the specific region. |
