1. A method of acquiring an image of a machine-readable symbol, the method comprising:
illuminating the machine-readable symbol with a plurality of illumination sources having different illumination spectra; collecting an image of the illuminated machine-readable symbol; separating chromatic components of the collect image to generate a plurality of raw images, each raw image of the plurality of raw images corresponding to a respective separated chromatic component of the collect image; and combining information from each raw image of the plurality of raw images to generate a new single image of the machine-readable symbol.
