A server which is linked to a display device is disclosed. The server comprises: a storage unit for storing a conversation pattern for each service domain; a communication unit for receiving a user's voice from the display device; and a control unit for identifying the service domain to which the user's voice belongs, generating the response information corresponding to the user's voice based on the conversation pattern of the identified service domain, and directing the communication unit to transmit the generated response information to the display device. If the control unit determines that a currently received user's voice belongs to a different service domain from the service domain to which a previously received user's voice belongs, the control unit generates the response information corresponding to the currently received user's voice based on the conversation pattern of the different service domain.
