PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm for a construction machine, which can have a reduced entire weight while ensuring required strength.SOLUTION: An arm 11 for a construction machine is provide which is formed by welding left and right side plates 12 and 13, an upper plate 14, a lower plate 15, a rear plate 16, and so on to each other, and in which rear side plates 12A and 13A and front side plates 12B and 13B constituting the left and right side plates 12 and 13 respectively, a rear upper plate 14A and a front upper plate 14B constituting the upper plate 14 and a rear lower plate 15A and a front lower plate 15B constituting the lower plate 15 are each formed by using thick plate materials, while intermediate side plate 12C and 13C constituting the left and right side plates 12 and 13, respectively, an intermediate upper plate 14C constituting the upper plate 14 and an intermediate lower plate 15C constituting the lower plate 15 are each formed by using thin plate materials. Consequently, the entire weight of the arm 11 can be reduced while maintaining the strength of the arm 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
