A method for prediction of development of cardiovascular complications of chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer includes determination of risk factors for development of chemotherapy cardio-toxicity (presence of concomitant cardiovascular pathology, diabetes mellitus, advanced age, previous mediastinal radiotherapy). Additionally C677T polymorphism of gene methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase is investigated, and at reveal of genotype T/T or C/T for the patient risk of development of chemotherapy cardiotoxicity is predicted, with prescription of supporting therapy. |
