A method for optimizing access to a wireless medium in a communication network using Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) with Collision Avoidance (CA). The network is accessible by nodes comprising a collaborative group that implement a back-off allocation scheme based on maintaining in each node a list of back-off values of the other nodes. A receiving node maintains a list of service interval values of nodes of the collaborative group, calculates 930 a transmission date (Ti) for each node of the collaborative group, compares 950, 960 a minimum service interval (minSI) with determined maximum (Tmax) and/or minimum (Tmin) transmission dates, adapts 980, 990 its contention window (CW) accordingly, e.g. to a minimum (CWmin) or maximum (CWmax) value, and selects a new back-off value in the range of the adapted contention window (CW). |
