<p>Labels are affixed to consumer products by a method that involves feeding single products (3) along a conveying line (4), gluing an area of each product (3) fed along the line (4), and applying labels (2) singly and in ordered succession to the glued areas of the advancing products (3). The glue is sprayed onto a frontal surface of each product (3) utilizing a glue delivery system (20) that comprises first and second sets (21, 22) of spray guns (23, 24) occupying a given position above the conveying line (4). The spray guns (24) of the second set are capable of movement from a first operating position alongside the guns (23) of the first set, to a second operating position rotated angularly from the first operating position, in which glue can be sprayed alternatively onto a lateral surface of the product (3).</p> |
