PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control member and a vibration control construction of a structure, easily installed in a small installation space by a simple constitution and absorbing (dissipating) vibration energy generated in the structure or the like. SOLUTION: This vibration control member 10 includes a flexible cable 14 with both ends fixed to the structure, and supporting members (sliding portions) 12A, 12B supporting the cable 14 and absorbing the vibration energy generated in the structure by frictional force developed between the cable 14 and supporting members.
