The method involves detecting an imminent low voltage supply, and initiating control measures for protection of a battery (4) i.e. lithium ion battery, of an electric hand tool device (2) and for avoiding the occurrence of the low voltage supply. Electrical power supplied to an electric motor (16) is gradually and continuously reduced until an idle state of the electric motor, irrespective of position of a manual switch push-button (22), based on the detection of the low voltage supply. The electrical power is reduced to zero within a time period in the range of 1 to 10 seconds. An independent claim is also included for an electric hand tool device. |
