Valve members. -An improved lock-tap more particularly for preventing the unauthorized use of petrol on motor vehicles comprises a number of relatively-rotatable interfitting cup-shaped valve mernbers j which are contained within a closing casing a and are provided with operating- discs e<2>, f<2>, g<2>, &c. disposed outside the casing and connected by sleeves e<1>, f<1>, g<1>, &c. to the valve members within. The cup-shaped members are provided with oppositely-disposed apertures one in each of which is arranged at a higher level than the other, as shown. A sloping tube k connects the apertures of the innermost valve member and has a collar k<1> rotating about the fixed central plug d which is perforated for the passage of liquid. Interfitting circular ribs and grooves are formed in the valve members and in the operating discs to locate these parts properly together and to prevent side play. In addition, spring-loaded balls e<4>, f<4>, g<4>, &c. are provided on the under side of each of the discs to take into indents arranged at intervals in the discs below to locate stop positions of the discs. The discs are also provided with letters or figures whereby the correct combination setting may be obtained.
