The system (20) has two terminals (10, 12) connected with each other by a battery strand (18). The battery strand includes multiple battery modules (17) connected in series and/or parallel. A battery cell (16) is connected to the battery strand per control or decoupled from the battery strand. The battery strand includes a loading and/or separating device (8) with a semiconductor switch (6) e.g. MOSFET. The semiconductor switch is designed to operate in an active switching operation. The semiconductor switch is arranged in a two-pulse bridge rectifier circuit. An independent claim is also included for a motor car.
