The method involves seizing a fluoroscopic image (B) of an object from the imaging system by an evaluation device (9). The fluoroscopic image is registered with a reference image (R) and both the images are overlapped. The reference image is projected on a two-dimensional image by considering angulation- (A) and projection parameters (P) or the two-dimensional image is computed. A comparison is executed by overlapping the two-dimensional image with the fluoroscopic image. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for use in an imaging system for optimization of image-based registration and superimposition under consideration of motion information; and (2) a computer program product for executing the method.
