The present invention relates to methods for producing concentrates of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid esters intended for use in regular, mass human consumption, either as a pharmaceutical ingredient or a food ingredient. The concentrate is characterised in that it has neutral, stable organoleptic properties, without the typical side effects associated with derivatives of marine oils and with low levels of persistent organic pollutants.
