The present invention relates to a side rolling type hatch cover apparatus and, more particularly, to a side rolling type hatch cover apparatus which includes a guide rail which is in a long side direction of a hatch from a bulk carrier; and a pair of cover main bodies which moves along the guide rail in order to open or close the hatch. Provided is the side rolling type hatch cover apparatus which comprises folding blocks which are installed on both side surfaces at right angles to the facing surfaces of the cover main body; a roll-up-roll assembling unit which is installed on a hatch coaming that protects the hatch in order to widen the cover main body by lifting and rotating, and being in contact with the folding block; and a motor driving unit which is installed in a short side direction of the hatch at right angles to the roll-up-roll assembling unit in order not to interfere in the cover main body, and horizontally moves the cover main body to the left and right by simultaneously operating through interlocking with the operation of the roll-up-roll assembling unit and including a pinion that is combined with a rack fixed on the bottom of the cover main body. At this time, the roll-up-roll assembling unit includes a pair of operating cylinders which is symmetrically installed and provides a driving force in order to push up and widen the folding block. The operating cylinders are formed to operate with the same cycle through a link. According to the present invention, the operation of the side rolling type hatch cover apparatus is easy and the possibility of malfunction is rare by having a simple structure so that the life can be extended and the maintenance costs can be reduced. |
