The filter has a filter element (22) that is received in filter cover (10) so as to separate an outer inlet space (32) from an inner outlet space (26). The inlet chamber is provided with a cup-shaped dust collection device (38) so that the outer inlet space is abutted against the inner wall of the filter cover.
