<p>The method involves classifying relevant parameters into a category whose data is transmitted accurately without approximations, and another category whose data is transmitted in the form of approximate values. The data of the latter category is compressed according to an algorithm that reduces the encoding of data to a number of bytes less than that required to encode and transmit the data accurately. The compressed data is transmitted in the form of truncated values with a code that identifies the algorithm used to reconstruct the approximate value by applying an inverse algorithm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an autonomous sensor (2) an installation for transmitting digital data from an autonomous sensor.</p> |
