<p>The method involves identifying a visibility obstacle if a value of radiated power that is refracted towards the rear and detected by a distance sensor (12) of an adaptive cruising speed control system or an adaptive speed regulating device (11), drops below a predetermined threshold value. The threshold value is continuously adjusted during operation of a motor vehicle (10) i.e. car, based on a quantity characterizing an actual slope of a roadway, in a displacement direction of the motor vehicle, where the quantity is an actual slope variation coefficient. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for identifying a visibility obstacle (2) a computer program product comprising instructions to perform a method for identifying a visibility obstacle (3) an adaptive speed regulating device for a motor vehicle comprising a control installation.</p> |
