The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for suppressing cell death in neuronal cells by rotenone which includes amurensin G extracted from vitis amurensis or pharmacuetically acceptible salts thereof. The pharmaceutical composition which includes amurensin G extracted from vitis amurensis according to the present invention promotes autophagy in the neuronal cells in order to suppress cell death in the neuronal cells generated by the rotenone and to effectively prevent or treat the Parkinson's disease which is one of neurodegenerative diseases. Also the amurensin G, which is an active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition according to the present invention, is a substance extracted from the natural vitis amurensis so that side effects cannot be a concern when the composition is applied to human body.
