Disclosed is an Internet-based protection method for a universal serial bus (USB) portable storage device which comprises implementing worldwide online identification through the Internet, wherein the object to be protected is a USB portable storage device having FLASH storage chips with single-level cell (SLC) or multi-level cell (MLC) structure; remotely locking said device in real time and online via the Internet. Compared with conventional encryption protection methods, the present method is safer and simpler as the user does not need to decompress by means of a password at each use. The method can protect both all the data on a USB portable storage device and the rights and interests of the person having valid identity features, provide a lifetime management service for the identity registry information of said person, and ensure the security and validity of the identity of said person in respect of the object to be protected, while also providing protection for the security of the user data and the work status of said object. When said object is lost or used by an illegal user, the method provides information for recourse and protection of the rights of the person having valid identity features. |
