The present invention relates to a monitoring camera system and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a monitoring camera system comprising: cameras for photographing images by being installed in different specific positions and adjusting a photographing direction toward a direction to which a radio frequency (RF) sensing signal is received, at least two RF sensors for being installed in each of the cameras, receiving RF signals transmitted from different directions, and respectively generating the RF sensing signal; and a central monitoring unit for displaying images transmitted from the cameras and generating an emergency signal about an image transmitted from a corresponding camera if the RF sensing signal is transmitted. According to the present invention, an administrator can certainly and easily recognize an emergency situation, and costs can be reduced because it is unnecessary to install an additional monitoring camera, to install multiple monitors in the central monitoring unit, and to increase the number of administrators.
