PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an image display device by laminating an image display member and a light transmitting cover member arranged on a surface side thereof with a light transmitting cured resin layer of a photocurable resin composition interposed therebetween without using a thermal polymerization process, and a method of manufacturing the image display device only by a photo-polymerization process, and by making the photocurable resin composition between a light-shielding layer and the image display member sufficiently photo-cured without being excessively removed therefrom, so that a level difference between the surfaces of the light-shielding layer and the light transmitting cover member can be canceled.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an image display device includes the steps of: applying a liquid photocurable resin composition 3 including no thermal polymerization initiator on the surface of a light transmitting cover member 2 including a light-shielding layer 1 or on the surface of an image display member in a thickness thicker than that of the light-shielding layer 1 and then irradiating the surface as is with UV light to cure the photocurable resin composition to form a light transmitting cured resin layer; and subsequently laminating the image display member and the light transmitting cover member with the light transmitting cured resin layer interposed therebetween to obtain an image display device. |
