PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform idle rotation control capable of ensuring return to the lowest gear ratio at stoppage while improving fuel consumption by lowering idling speed according to an engine load during neutral control.SOLUTION: Neutral control is started at a braking start time t1 and the neutral control is finished at a stoppage time t4 with the vehicle speed VSP being 0. With a target idling speed tNeid lowered to an idling speed for neutral control Neu-Neid, the engine is operated at Neu-Neid. In the case it is not returned to the lowest gear ratio with Neu-Neid maintained during the neutral control (change by time passage shown by a two dot chain line of the gear ratio i), it is raised to a lowest return realizing idle speed Lo-Neid for operating the engine at Lo-Neid. Therefore, as it is clear from the change by time passage shown by the solid line of the gear ratio i, the continuously variable transmission is returned to the lowest gear ratio to t3 before stoppage. |
