NETWORK DEVICE AND AUTHENTICATION THEREOF AND KEY MANAGEMENT METHOD

Disclosed are a network device and authentication thereof and a key management method. The method comprises: a network device generating a network key (NK); the network device performing authentication protocol interaction with a communication peer device, and calculating a base session key (BSK) according to a parameter of the authentication protocol interaction and the NK; and the network device calculating, according to the BSK, link encryption keys (EK) used by media access control (MAC) and physical (PHY) layers of each access technology, and respectively providing the EKs to a corresponding MAC and PHY layer functional module. By means of the present invention, the validity of a heterogeneous network device is verified by performing one authentication process for the device, and uniform key management is implemented for various MAC layer technologies.
